Kelcey Short loves Jesus and is happily sharing life married to her high school sweetheart. They are also blessed with two wonderful sons. She and her husband have successfully operated their business in the Permian Basin for over a decade. Kermit has been her home all her life. As a KHS alumni graduate, she feels fortunate to be representing City Council, District 2 of the City of Kermit, since May 2023. She also serves her community on the Winkler County Appraisal District (board member), Kermit Celebration Days (committee member) and a Former President of the Kermit Downtown Lions Club, and also a committee member on the Parks and Rec. Her initial goal when campaigning for council remains her goal for their future: to make Kermit a better place to live. She believes Kermit should be safe, have amenities, and be a place they are proud to call home, for their children, their elderly, and everyone in between. She is honored and has so much gratitude for the ongoing encouragement from the community.
